I need so help. My husband is a 27 year old disabled veteran. When he was discharges the va charged him for his gear that was left in Iraq when he was injured there. They took all of his last paycheck and then all of the money from our tax return. That was 3 years ago. I was just contacted today to find out that they also took our stimulus payment. My husband tried to go to school after he got out of the army, but was unsucessful due to many hospital stays because he has severe PTSD. Since he did not complete the classes the Va took our stimulus payment to pay back for his GI bill. When he was dicharged from the army they left us homeless with no money to buy food for our kids. No way to pay for our car. Completly helpless. He is recieving a pension for his disablity and they told us the remaining amout will be deducted from his pension check! So then again they are trying to stave my family. Im not sure where they get off doing this to our family. My husband risked his life for these people to keep them from doing it and they have made our life total hell since. We live on a pension that is about 1500 less than the poverty level monthly. I need to find someone that can help with this a lawyer congressman any thing or anyone that can help. Please I have to do something to stop this before they totally destroy whats left of his life. He is bad enough with the sever ptsd, and these things keep happening and sometimes its really hard for me to get him to believe that he is better off here than dead. He truely belives that had he of died there that his family would of been taken care of and this is causes serious depression. Please anyone with any information contact me back. We are a low income family looking for assistane to help us make it! Ok let me get a little bit more into detail on how we need help. My husband is a Iraqi veteran he is 27 yrs old and is now disabled he was injured in iraq, and when he came home was discharged from the military. I am unable to work out of the home due to this and our 3 children. We live in government housing and would really like to have our own home. please any info possible would be great!
